Why Knowledge And Experience Are More Important Than High Priced Survival Gear

We live in an era where as soon as we envision owning something, we can run to the Internet and purchase the item with a few clicks. This is profound because it allows us to make spontaneous purchases with very little effort or research. The research we do is mostly comprised of product information from the brand themselves. It’s tough to get a true perspective of the item’s value. With survival gear, there are so many companies online selling high end gadgets that most consumers begin to think they need to spend top dollar to be prepared with the basics.

I was on a trip recently to Costa Rica and I had an epiphany that shaped my quest to fine tune Survival Gear Planet. I was on the beach in Manuel Antonio getting prepared to set off on a small boat with a guide to fish for Marlon. The beach we were launching from wasn’t a gringo area.  I looked over and saw a boy who couldn’t have been more than six, fishing off some rocks in a small bay area.  The thing is, he had nothing on but a pare of faded board shorts and was using what looked like a cane pole as a rod. He had a piece of ratty string tied to the pole. When he saw me looking at him, he pulled up his strung catch to show me his 4 or 5 decent sized fish. That was probably going to be the extent of his family’s meal for the evening. Then I got hit with the irony. Here I was loading thousands of dollars of rented fishing gear into a boat for sport, and he was using a crude, home made tool to feed his family. He was benefitting from the passing down of KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE. I was about to try to benefit from expensive fishing gear and marine survival supplies.

With Survival Gear Planet, we’ve tried to provide a well thought out collection of economically priced preparedness equipment. Our goal was to build a brand that earned trust based on it’s approach to outfitting yourself. Meaning, we’re the experts so why should you have to be too. Our products provide survival preparedness in logically grouped bundles at rock bottom prices. Then it’s up to you to gain the KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE to go beyond survival supplies. What’s going to be worth more if SHTF? Cash or food? With that in mind, we advise you to think smart about not only how to provide for yourself and your family / coworkers / students, but to also prepare for a time when cash is not king.
